HALIFAX, MA – July 5th , 2019 – Elizabeth Chenelle took home the top spot of the MHC Adult Medal at NHHJA’s Summer Festival held at the Fieldstone Show Park.

Elizabeth finished in the top spot under the guidance of her father, Armand Chenelle, of Windcrest Farm. While Elizabeth is no stranger to  the 3’ ring, she had only met her mount for this class hours earlier. Chenelle catch-rode "Bardot," a mare from Apple Knoll Farm  owned by Katie McCormick. Elizabeth's soft and classic style as well as strong execution of the course deemed her the winner.

Winning the MHC Adult Medal qualifies her for the finals the last weekend in September at the Three County Fairgrounds in Northampton, MA. When it comes to the MHC Finals, Elizabeth has been there but not in the saddle. In the past she has gone to watch and groom for medal-qualifiers, working behind the scenes.

However, this year she will be able to have her own feet in the stirrups. A different view from watching in the stands.  "I'm looking forward to competing at a well-organized final," says Chenelle. "The horse that I'm going to ride however, has never been to the finals before."

Riding a horse that hasn't been to a final is no concern for Chenelle. She has had multiple wins in the Adult Equitation at The National Horse Show, Lake Placid, WEF, as well as qualifying for New England Finals, Ariat Finals and The National Horse Show. In addition, she has received top ribbons in the past at CHJA Finals, New England Finals, WEF, Lake Placid and Marshal & Sterling Finals.

Elizabeth currently competes in the younger division of the Adult Equitation, and at 24 years old, she has plenty of years left to capture the MHC 18-30 Finals title. We can't wait to see you at the finals!
