Mackenzie Palmer takes home the top honors in the MHC Junior Medal at

Head of the Bay Classic week 1

BUZZARDS BAY, MA - July 28th - 2013 MHC Mini-Medal Reserve Champion makes her MHC comeback winning the MHC Junior Medal at the Head of the Bay horse show topping a field of 12.

Palmer is a decorated equitation rider here in the state of Massachusetts. In 2013 she was the MHC Mini-Medal Finals Reserve Champion (see picture below), 8th in the 2015 SEHA Junior Medal Final, and now in 2016 has had a top season with her mount, Blue Horse Farm's, Dragonfly.  The pair have won classes ranging from the NEHC Junior Medal to the ASPCA Maclay.

Thursday was a record day with the heat pushing 85 degrees at 7:30am in the morning. Luckily for Palmer and Dragonfly, the MHC Junior Medal was the first class of the day.

Even for an A-rated horse show, the MHC Junior Medal course was impressive, but fair. It consisted of jumps that looked like they were taken straight out of the New England Equitation Finals with tall verticals, square oxars and several option choices. It asked technical questions of the horse and rider combinations which reflects the same questions asked at the MHC Medal Finals in September. The course gave trouble to quite a few horses finding the jumps to be spooky, but not for Dragonfly.
