New for the 2012 show season!

The MHC Hunter Derby

Rating: For "AA" $300.00 - "A" $200.00 - "B" $100.00

MHC 2'6" Junior/Amateur Adult Hunter Derby

This is a two round class open to amateur adults and juniors, to be shown over a course of ten fences set at 2'6" with the first round judged on performance, hunter pace, style, quality, substance and movement. The course should include at least one in and out, one bending line and one unrelated distance. The obstacles are to simulate those found in a hunt field. Natural obstacles may be used. The top 4 or 25% from the first round will return to jump a handy hunter round of eight obstacles, which may include at least two of the following: trot jump, tight turn option, clever options for jump approached, halt and/or back, and walk jump. Judged on style, brilliance and handiness.
Minimum of 4 riders needed to hold the class.

MHC 2'9" Open Hunter Derby

This is a two round class open to riders of any status, to be shown over a course of ten fences set at 2'6" with the first round judged on performance, hunter pace, style, quality, substance and movement. New for 2012

The MHC has added a fence height for SMALL PONIES in the Mini Medal!

MHC Hunt Seat Mini Medal

Open to members of MHC who have not reached their fifteenth birthday and have not competed in classes in which the entry is required to jump higher than three feet. All contestants are to compete over a course not exceeding eight fences and not less than six fences, excluding combinations fences, at a height not to exceed 2'6" for horses, large and medium ponies, or 2' for small ponies. One or more individual test may be requested at the Judge's discretion, (USEF Tests 1-8). After qualifying, contestant is no longer eligible for this class. Ten point are required to qualify for the finals. (10,6,4,2 points). A Mini-Medal rider who competes in the Jr. Medal prior to the finals is no longer eligible for the Mini-Medal final.

To fill a class, at least four competitors must complete the course.
